eTwinning project plan



Every country has its own history and culture, which is valuable for everyone living anywhere in the world. The students learn about the sights of their country, find out more information about them and share with their friends from different countries. They will collaborate and create different products for different target groups according to the interests of customers. They will create promotion of their products. This way they will learn not only about the sights but also about the importance of tourism for the economy as well as about the market.
  • Subjects: Foreign Languages, Geography, History, History of Culture, Home economics, Informatics / ICT

  • Pupil's age: 14 - 18
  • Tools to be used: Audio conference, Chat, e-mail, Forum, MP3, Other software (Powerpoint, video, pictures and drawings), Project Diary, Twinspace, Video conference, Web publishing
  • Aims:
    1. To learn more about the historic and cultural places of different countries; 
  • 2. To develop 21st Century Skills; 
  • 3. To share information using ICT, PPT presentations, video; video conference 
  • 4. To meet online using English for communication;
  •  5. To organize a tourist itinerary; 
  • 6. To be aware of the importance of tourism for economy of Country; 
  • 7. To improve specific foreign language - English 
  • Work process:
    1. Students introduce themselves by PPT, Google cards, Padlet ­ where they upload their photos and write a few words about themselves. 2. Students introduce partner countries ­ students will interview their peers of the partner countries and will write then an article about the chosen country. (e.g. Slovakia will interview Italian students about their country and then write an article about Italy ­ this will be more interesting way to get to know partner countries (using google doc or Zoom video conferencing for interview or skype and then we will create e­magazine with articles) 3. Students will do research of the impact of tourism on the economy of their country and region to see the importance and present it to peers via Zoom video conference 4. UNESCO Heritage of their countries ­ Students should research and list the sites UNESCO of their country partners outlining a logical route through the web tool: tripline; Students will be divided into international mixed teams and will brainstorm the possible target groups for their products (3­7 days trips around the partners countries) ­ e.g. one group will work on UNESCO natural heritage ­ for the target group "nature lovers:)", another group can work on UNESCO cultural monuments, another one can create a route for young people....or for families.. 5. Students choose one of the partner countries to structure a tourist itinerary of at least five days ­ for chosen target group. Students have to prepare this itinerary with the materials at their disposal of the places of tourist interest. In add, students will think of the needs of the target group and their interests to be able to prepare the products that fit their customers 6. They will be given the opportunity to choose the best tools that suit them to collect information and make promotion afterwards. 7. Students become tourist promoters of their Country. They choose the most important places, monuments, nature reserve, and so on of their Country and will create a short video (spot) to promote the attractions and give useful information. 8. Making a facebook group for better communication or an online platform, Online meetings (skype, ooVoo, Zoom) ­ during the online meetings each team will present prepared information ­ itinerary for others to receive feedback.
  • Expected results:
    1. The students will learn the sights of their countries as well as other countries; 
  • 2. They will be able to use ICT tools during the project; 
  • 3. They will be able to develop 21st Century Skills; 
  • 4. They will be able to meet and communicate their peers; 
  • 5. They will be able to work in team; 
  • 6. They will respect the culture and history of other countries; 
  • 7. They will produce online magazine as a tour guide about their countries 
  • 8. They will improve English language
